Scenery - Death Valley

Flowers were blooming on the alluvial fans of sand and gravel that extend from the bottoms of the mountains. Toxic salt pans on the floor of Death Valley provided a stark contrast in scenery.

Down south in the Ashford Mill area (topo map) there were incredible displays of Desert Gold flowers in bloom. Notice the throngs of people who came out to see this beautiful scenery. Ashford Mill is 40 mi south of Furnace Creek Campground. BTP3250097c.jpg
