Scenery - Death Valley

Down south in the Ashford Mill area (topo
map) there were
incredible displays of Desert
Gold
flowers
in bloom. Notice the throngs of people who came out to see this
beautiful scenery. Ashford Mill is 40 mi south of Furnace Creek
Campground.

map) where the Black Mountains
overlook the
salt pans on the valley floor.
Sparse stands of Desert Gold
flowers grow around the edges of the salt pans.

White Top Mountain (topo
map) in the Cottonwood Mountains. These
Cottonwood Mountains make up the northern end of the Panamint Range
(north of Hwy 190)(map-n).
Note the alluvial fans of sand
and gravel that come out from the little canyons and extend
